Alzheimer's Association

Nonprofit Marketing

Alzheimer's Association is the top voluntary health organization that advocates for Alzheimer's research, care, and support. Nationwide, they host a Walk to End Alzheimer's event annually to raise funds and awareness for their mission.

As the development intern at Alzheimer's Association, I worked on various marketing-related tasks to support their Walk to End Alzheimer's events. My main focus was on Indiana's chapter, which includes 10+ markets.

Apart from market research to find new participants and sponsors, I also outreached to 200+ new leads and existing participants. The main purpose of these phone calls and email campaigns were to promote fundraising challenges and maintain positive relationships with participants.

I also managed 3 Facebook Groups by:

  • scheduling content on higher traffic days/times

  • creating digital graphics using Canva for announcements, fundraising challenges, and other content

  • brainstorming creative virtual fundraising ideas (due to COVID-19 pandemic)

  • engaging with participants

Other responsibilities included:

  • editing Walk day opening ceremony by compiling clips/slides and overlaying audios

  • updating Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system for 3 Walk markets

  • designing other company documents using Adobe Acrobat software according to Alzheimer's Association brand guidelines

Below are some examples of graphics posted in Facebook groups (virtual fundraising ideas and sponsor gratitude post):
