Food to Swallow

Food Blog

Food to Swallow is a personal food Instagram I created as a fun hobby. It started out of my love for food and trying new things, whether it be restaurants, recipes, or types of cuisine. Another interest of mine is photography, so I am always taking photos of my food. As the saying goes, 'the phone eats first!'

Although @foodtoswallow is just a fun project, I enjoy seeing it grow organically. I use Instagram Insights and Meta Business Suite to track KPIs, such as engagement rate. Using Excel, I also compile the analytics to find trends in:

  • what types of posts have higher engagement rates

  • best time of day/day of week to post

  • year-over-year comparisons

  • hashtag reach/conversion rate

Since last year, average engagement rates increased approximately 7% from 22.87% in 2022 to 29.58% in 2023. Overall average engagement rate over the past 2+ years is 36.76% (2021 average was higher likely because of lower reach and higher number of close/personal followers).
