Pock'It Pitch
Designing Technology for People
As a female, I rarely have big enough pockets or any at all on my clothing. To solve this common problem, I designed Pock'It, a magnetic attachable pocket. Made with simple materials and easy to attach anywhere on your clothing, my design considered both business operations/costs and user experience. I also worked with my partner to research and strategize a way to bring Pock'It to market.
At the end of the semester, my partner and I pitched our product innovation in the Prototyping Technology for People Design Competition and won 1st place.
Afterwards, one of the judges encouraged us to continue the project. She shared that Pock'It could help young girls, like her daughter, who had diabetes. Our product could conveniently store an insulin pen that her daughter would otherwise not carry with her if not concealed.
Pock'It started as a solution to a simple annoyance for me, but with each iteration it became a solution for many more.
